Northumberland Cancer Support Group

Practical help and support groups

The charity was established in 1986. We are independent and run by a small group of volunteers. We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. The first Tuesday is in the evening at 6:30pm for 7pm start and we usually have a guest speaker. This meeting is held at Hexham General Hospital in the Education Centre, second floor. On the third Tuesday of the month we meet in the afternoon from 1pm until 3pm, at Hexham Trinity Methodist Church, Beaumont Street Hexham. This meeting has a mixture of guest speaker sessions and other activities. Complementary therapy available. There are many ways in which we can help our members. In between these meetings some members meet up for days and lunches out to various places. Some activities throughout the year include a weekend residential stay at Shepherds Dene, Riding Mill at the end of September, Art Days and courses on various topics. Members are encouraged to suggest ideas for events and activities they would like to do. The majority of these activities are subsidised by the group.
